Elizabeth Fauna is one of the most talented actors of her generation. Starting with her debut role in “The Velvet Hour” (1930), Fauna has starred in many hits, such as “The Hollow Mirror” (1935) and “Beneath the Cypress Moon” (1940), both critically acclaimed and commercially successful films for which she was awarded an Oscar. She was elected as the first female President of the Academy in 1938, serving until 1940. In 1941, amidst American involvement in WW2, Fauna decided to put her career on hiatus. She joined the relief efforts of the Red Cross, helping save many lives in Europe. In 1946, Fauna returned to California, and she began to act once again. Though her roles, like “When the Guns Go Quiet” (1947) and “Her Quiet Madness” (1952) were not as successful as before, Fauna remained on top! Fauna’s final role, “The House on Belladonna Street” (1954) was a failure, but it has been lauded by Fauna fans everywhere. Fauna has, since her retirement, lived in Los Feliz, Los Angeles.
