"Silenziosi come la notte veloci come la folgore" Il Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (GIS) è l'unità delle forze speciali dei Carabinieri Italiani. I Carabinieri, un ramo delle Forze Armate responsabili sia della polizia civile che militare, hanno costituito il GIS nel 1978 come unità tattica di polizia. Nel 2004, GIS ha assunto un ruolo di operazioni speciali, evolvendosi in un'unità di forze speciali, oltre al ruolo di unità tattica di polizia, entrando a far parte del Comando interforze per le Operazioni delle Forze Speciali.
