Description

The Scout Ranger Regiment is an elite military unit of the Philippine Army, known for its expertise in counterinsurgency and special operations. It was officially established on November 25, 1950, during a time when the country faced internal security threats. The unit was founded by Rafael M. Ileto, a respected officer who trained the first group of Scout Rangers. Its formation was inspired by the success of U.S. Army Rangers during World War II. The regiment was created to conduct small-unit operations such as raids, ambushes, and reconnaissance missions. Over time, the Scout Ranger Regiment became one of the most highly trained and respected units in the Philippines, playing a vital role in national defense.
