Corpus Senatusᅠ #546276056
Description
𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐕𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐕𝐒 "Corps and Council" Since its inception around 753 B.C.E., the Roman Senate has been regarded as the most integral institution of the state ever created. Serving as the most senior political and administrative body in Rome, the Senate wielded powers such as receiving foreign ambassadors, raising armies, and domestic legislation. Historians such as Cato considered the assembly to be the beating heart of the Republic itself. The Senate had gone through many major transitionary and turbulent periods, such as the dissolution of the monarchy in the early days of the kingdom. The council had proven itself symbol of Roman resilience, with many politicians rising and falling into legacies spanning across generations of influential Romans or infamy. Every Roman's career began with the Senate. 🌿 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑹𝑶𝑴𝑨𝑵 𝑺𝑬𝑵𝑨𝑻𝑬
