The archdiocese was elevated from a diocese shortly after the fall of Rome during the Great Destruction. For a brief period, the Papacy established it as the new seat of Saint Peter’s Church. Following the Great Aleczaender Trial and Civil War, Catholicism declined in popularity, and the Latin Patriarchate of Octavium was disbanded, marking the end of Octavian influence.
