Description

Dissection was primarily a Swedish melodic black metal band from strömstad, founded in 1989 by Jon Nödtveidt and Peter Palmdahl. The band released two albums during the 90s: The Somberlain (1993) and Storm of the Light’s Bane (1995); they rapidly gained recognition, bursting onto the scene. Two years later, the band disbanded in 1997 due to Nödtveidt’s imprisonment, but was later revived in 2004 with a new lineup. Dissection went on to release their final album, Reinkaos, in 2006, shortly before Nödtveidt’s death in 2006. To this day, Dissection remains one of the most influential and respected bands in black metal history.
