Description
[Info] During the Crimean Campaign many Crimean Tatars that had been forced to fight in the Red Army were captured and kept in Prisoner of War camps by the Germans. Subsequently a number of these Tatars were taken from the camps either forcefully or through promises of liberation and religious freedom and reorganized into the Tatar Blue Regiment as well as auxiliary police units.
