The US Coast Guard is a US Military branch, part of the Department of the Navy and are responsible for coastal defence, rescue operations and maritime law enforcement. They are part of the department of the Navy along with the US Navy and US Marines. The United States Coast Guard have participated in almost every single major war that the US fought in.
