Description
𝐓𝐀𝐗𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐌𝐈𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐍 « 𝑺𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑲𝒆𝒆𝒍 » The Simiadai descend from Simos, who captained the fleet beside Protis when the first Phocaean keels came ashore in the cove of the Lacydon. It was Protis who stood before Nannos's daughter and won the founding of the city through marriage; Simos stood beside him unwed, and it was by his hand and counsel that the first walls of Massalia were raised, stone upon stone. The Simiadai never married into the line of the Segobriges, and within the Massalian Stratos they have guarded that distinction ever since — proud to be Phocaean before they are anything else, unmixed since the first keel touched Gallic sand. What they lack in claim to the throne, they make up in seniority: theirs is the oldest unbroken Greek blood remaining in Massalia, and they intend that the polis never forget it. ₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪ From the second keel; by blood unmixed.
