The Worker-Peasant Red Guards is the paramilitary wing of the Worker's Party of Korea and is it the largest civil defense force in the DPRK, it is under the State Affairs Commission and it is attached to the Worker's Party of Korea. ENLISTMENT IS MANDATORY FOR RESERVISTS IN THE KPA, AND IT IS ALSO MANDATORY FOR RETIRED KPA MEMBERS, WPK MEMBERS, AND UNSKILLED SOLDIERS
