Description
(Now merged with CSXF) Conrail Corp: CONsolidated RAILroad CORPoration. Anyone can join the Conrail Corp! Conrail was created by the U.S. government in 1976 from the bankrupt CNJ; CIND; DL&W; Erie; Lehigh & Hudson River; LV; NYC; New York, New Haven & Hartford; PRR; Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines; & Reading. With 34,000+ miles of track, it made Conrail to be the largest railroad at that time, that is why it's called Conrail Quality = Continuous Quality Improvement (Conrail/Conrail Quality are the same thing, just a later scheme.) after the big movement of taking over those railroads (as well as a grant from the government). Now, almost all of Conrail's locomotives have been taken by Norfolk Southern Railway and the CSX Transportation. Other major companies, such as Union Pacific and BNSF, have a few locos as well!
