𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐘 The Royal Sicilian Rangers were raised in 1806, originally starting a detachment of Sicilian volunteers. This detachment would go on to receive the battle honours of the Battle of Maida in the year of its creation. In 1809, the detachment was raised as a proper regiment where they were presented with their white flag and black eagle. 4 years later, the Royal Sicilians would go on to take part in the Battle of Alicante, and were noted for their bravery.
