Traffic Cones are usually cone-shaped markers that are placed on roads to temporarily redirect traffic in a safe manner. They are often used to create separation or merge lanes during road construction projects. Traffic Cones are made from pliable plastics, such as Polyvinyl Chloride. The common sizes for Traffic Cones are 36”, 28”, 18”, 12”, and 6”. 12” and 6” Traffic Cones are not to be used on roads. Instead, they are used in indoor areas or sporting events. Indoor Traffic Cones are frequently used to mark off areas that are closed to pedestrians or to denote a dangerous condition. For nighttime use or low-light situations, Traffic Cones are fitted with a retro-reflective sleeve made of reflective plastic to increase visibility. Tape or adhesive can be used to permanently attach the collars to the Traffic Cones. The most common color of a Traffic Cone is Safety Orange, Blaze Orange, or Orange-152 on the Pantone Matching System with 14 parts yellow + 3 parts warm red + ¼ part black.
