The Byzantine Empire began to fall, it's lands in Italy got lost, the lands in Africa fell to common rebels and Islamic Invasions. And Sassainds took over the east of Byzantium. During Arab-Byzantine wars, the Byzantine suffered mass losses, especially during first Arab-Byzantine war. Most of Byzantine armies fell to Rashiduns. Causing, Arabs to reach Constantinople. Byzantine had survived due to weather being on their side, lacking Arabian water supplies. From there, the Byzantine started developing their tech.
