Description
The Reitende ##### served as the ducal guards of Nassau. Initially formed in 1803, this unit would see action in the Jena campaign, before being sent to fight in the Peninsula. This regiment would distinguish itself greatly in Spain, earning many accolades and recommendations from its French overseers. In 1813, the Reitende serving in Spain were disarmed post-Leipzig. However, the depot squadron which remained in Nassau, lead by General-Adjutant Bismark, would serve under the V Deustchen Armeekorps at the Blockade of Mainz before being disbanded in 1814.
