This newfound unity was not without its challenges yet to say. External forces, particularly the Russians and the French, were determined to exploit any divisions between the Poles and Lithuanians. These powers recognised that a united Poland and Lithuania posed a significant threat to their own ambitions, as a way to do so, they employed various methods to drive a wedge between the two nations, often creating entities like the Duchy of Warsaw and the SSR of Lithuania, These efforts aimed to undermine the solidarity that had been established through the Union of Lublin, but, the resilient spirit of the Lechs and Litvins endured.
