Welcome to the kingdom of Pomerania, During a series of polish revolutions occurring all over east Prussia mainly small ones with little gains, So a small region of modern day Poland staged a small revolution / Freedom movement against the weimar republic ( Germany ) backed by the 2nd republic of Poland, It was successful due to the crippled German government not strong enough to fight them off, Pomerania was freed and started off as a democratic republic as a polish puppet. But eventually when the Great Depression hit nationalist influence hit the region hard. And they eventually won entire freedom from Poland in 1928 and a dictator took over the region, The border safe zone takes place in 1938 where Pomerania was caught in-between Germany and Adolf and Poland. Pomerania is also the sight of testing grounds like the spanish civil war for upcoming warfare for both Leftists and rightists.
