Description
The Portuguese East India company made contact with Japan in the 17th century. The expeditions to the Japanese islands made contact with the Otomo, Oda, Mori and a variety of other clans. The Portuguese would begin contracts for these clans to bring income to the crown. Official mercenary companies would be formed as a direct extension of both the crown and company.
