Description
𝐑𝐎𝐘𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐘 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒇 𝑯𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 The Duchy of Brandenburg-Prussia was devastated in the 30 Years' War due to relying almost entirely upon mercenaries known as Landsknecht. From this humiliation, the Great Elector established an army by conscription to better defend the Prussian lands. When he died, his successor, the Soldier King, took over. The Soldier King obsessed over the army and everything about it, turning it into a formidable force of 80,000 soldiers, making it the fourth largest in Europe. When he died, Frederick the Great took over. Frederick the Great was a mix of both the Great Elector and the Soldier King. While he was a great supporter of the arts, he also knew that a strong army was necessary for the defense of Prussia. A few monarchs later, Napoleon started causing trouble. Prussia was defeated by Napoleon and the army underwent massive reforms. 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒕 Wars Won: 1 Wars Lost: 0 Raids Won: 5 Raids Lost: 1
