Description
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 Originally a rag-tag mixture of reservists, militia, and citizen volunteers, the National Guard of France became the largest military force to side with the people of France during December Revolution and ensuing Civil War. After the Bonapartist segments of the military were abolished and disgraced for their treason against France, the National Guard was made the standard and professional fighting force of France and since then its many units have served with distinction protecting the Republic.
