The settlers were survivors from New Jerusalem, a previous LDS settlement established in Salt Lake City, the destroyed pre-War capital of the Church of LDS. The organization is known for its trade with notable caravan companies such as the Crimson Caravans and Happy Trails, as well as missionary work to the tribes of Utah. New Canaan was destroyed by the White Legs, aided by Caesar's Legion in 2281.
