𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐢𝐟𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 "The Poltava twice Red Banner Guards Rifle Division" Known as the 87th Rifle Division Second Formation until November 6th, 1943 until it was placed under the command of Alexander Rodimtsev. The division was officially awarded Guards status on January 19th, 1942 and was re-designated as the 13th Guards Rifle Division. The division would fight in the Great Patriotic War earning multiple honours.
