▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ U.S. Coast Guard Base Gloucester Coast Guard Base Gloucester is the correct name for the now decommissioned base was (U.S. Coast Guard COTP Gloucester City, NJ as well as U.S. Coast Guard Base Gloucester City, NJ). (COTP standing for "Captain of the Port") The base was formed 1898 and the base was closed in 1988. The site also had the main building that housed Administration, berthing for some of the crew, galley, officers quarters, PX. There was a boat house, fire house, ANT (Aids to navigation) unit and stand alone crane for the small boats and buoys .
