The Maritime Enforcement Specialist rating is responsible for law enforcement and security duties in the United States Coast Guard. Additionally, these personnel are trained in traditional maritime law enforcement, contraband interdiction and Homeland Security Operations. ----- M.E. Specialists are deployed to Coast Guard Cutters and Sectors. ----- To become a M.E. Specialist members must first pass Entrance Exam.
