𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 The Irish Catholic Confederation formed in 1642 by Irish clergy, noblemen and military leaders after the Irish Rebellion of 1641. The Confederation would rule two-thirds of Ireland while the remaining Protestant-controlled enclaves of Ulster, Munster and Leinster were held by the armies of the Royalists, Parliamentarians or Scottish Covenanters.
