After the Act of Ultimate Heresy and the subsequent incursions by Heretics in the Levant, the city of Antioch was fortified and became a focal point of resistance against the forces of Hell in 1102. Antioch continued to stand as the strongpoint of the Church's defence line until 1545, when it was utterly destroyed by a mysterious infernal weapon. Even with the city's destruction and the lethal demonic essence emanating from the crater that was left behind, Faithful forces held on and continued to fight as the first line of defence against the Heretic forces.
