Welcome to the Legislative Assembly of Newport. This department is the legislative branch of government, responsible for passing, repealing and amending laws, passing special policies, and other such important decisions. The Legislative Assembly comprises of two houses. The lower house is known as the House of Representatives which comprises of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Cabinet, Leader of the Opposition, and all other Representatives. The upper house is known as the Senate which comprises of Senators. This group only accepts those who form as part of the Legislative Assembly. If you are not apart of the Legislative Assembly, your request will be denied.
