Description
Rock mot Rus is a norwegian rock festival based in Andenes, Nordland in Norway. The festival is hosted yearly before the palm weekend in easter and lasts in the span of 3 days. At the start of each day, there is headliners playing, and when the clock strikes midnight the "Rockemønstring" begins. This is when amateur and relatively new bands gets to play a few songs to show themselves off. On the sunday a winner is decided, the winner gets 20 000 Norwegian Crowns and gets to play at "Buktafestivalen" in Tromsø. On the sunday "Willy Oftedals Ærespris" in memory of Willy Oftedal who was the first festival chief of rock mot rus is awarded to a person or organization that has helped youths with music. The award consists of a bronze statue, diploma and 5 000 norwegian crowns.
