Description

Formed as the main land component of China’s armed forces, the People's Liberation Army Ground Force was originally built around the doctrine of “people’s war”—a strategy emphasizing mass mobilization, territorial defense, and protracted conflict. In recent decades, this approach has evolved toward informationized warfare, focusing on rapid, coordinated operations designed to achieve decisive effects across multiple domains. By the height of China’s military modernization in the 2010s–2020s, the PLAGF numbered close to one million personnel, including conscripts and professional officers.
