Description
Delta Force, officially known as 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D), is one of the U.S. military’s most elite and secretive special operations units. Operating under the U.S. Army and Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), it is primarily tasked with counterterrorism, hostage rescue, direct action, and covert missions around the globe. Formed in 1977 and inspired by the British SAS, Delta Force selects its members from the best of the U.S. Armed Forces through a grueling and highly classified selection process. Its missions are often top secret, and its operators are known for their unmatched skill, adaptability, and ability to operate in the most dangerous environments.
