𝐕ä𝐬𝐭𝐠ö𝐭𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐴𝑟𝑣𝑒𝑡 𝐹𝑜̈𝑟𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑡𝑎𝑟! The heritage obligates. The Västgöta regemente was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traced its origins back to the 16th century. They were formerly a cavalry regiment, but converted to a Line Infantry regiment given the name "Västgöta Regemente." The regimental soldiers were recruited from the province of Västergötland and were later garrisoned there. In 1816, all regiments received an order number with Västgöta assigned № 6.
