In the city of Vukovar the JNA is met with heavy resistance from Croatian paramilitaries who months prior to the attack began besieging JNA barracks all across the region of Slavonia. After successfully liberating Eastern Slavonia from Croatian ustashe, the JNA withdraws from Croatia following the Vance Plan. As Bosnia illegally declares independence, a new front opens up and the JNA is tasked with capturing key positions to secure Bosnia from Croat and extremists. On 20th of May 1992, JNA withdraws from Bosnia and it later becomes the Armed Forces of Yugoslavia.
