They served as the eyes and striking hand of Macedon, riding ahead of the main host to scout, harass, and pierce through enemy lines with unmatched speed and precision. ⚔️ Agile yet disciplined, the Sarissophoroi bridged the power of the Hetairoi and the might of the infantry phalanx, adapting fluidly between reconnaissance and shock combat. In their charge, the enemy saw both the herald and the hammer of Macedon’s advance. 🔥 To serve among the Sarissophoroi was to live on the edge of danger and glory, for these riders carried not only their lances but the honor of the king’s army itself.
