Description

Planes such as the Mirage III and Mirage ### which were purchased from France, were the backbone of ### ### during the 1970s and part of the 1980s. French fighters were the mainstays of the air force until 'at the arrival of the American F / A-18. The Spanish F / A-18s participated in the war in Bosnia and the war in Kosovo under the command of NATO, based in Aviano, Italy15 and more recently in the 2011 military intervention in Libya. The Spanish air force is currently replacing old aircraft in its inventory with new ones, such as the recent Eurofighter Typhoon fighter and the Airbus A400M transport aircraft. Both are made with the participation of Spain; EADS CASA manufactures the right wing of the Eurofighter and the radome16, and participates in the assembly and testing of the A400M17 transport aircraft. Its aerobatic team is the Patrulla Aguila, which flies on CASA C-101 Aviojet18. Its helicopter aerobatic team, the Patrulla Aspa, flies on Eurocopter EC-120 Colibri.
