Bersaglieri #6229679
Description
The Bersaglieri was created by General Alessandro La Marmora on 18 June 1836 to serve as a high-mobility and long range light infantry. In the nineteenth century, Bersaglieri acted as skirmishers from a long distance, moving from place to place by running. An elaborate system of bugle calls allowed their units to be deployed and commanded quickly. They are traditionally known as excellent buglers and for there distinctive wide-brimmed hats decorated with black capercaillie (rooster) feathers as shade from the hot sun for the Italian's sniper-eye.

Growth
Growth history is still building. We hold one measurement for this entry. A trend needs at least two, taken days apart — so this will fill in on its own rather than being estimated. We do not publish numbers we have not measured.
