Welcome to National Park Service The National Park Authority has been given the task of looking after the national parks and it does so to an agenda set out by central government. It works in partnership with other organisations and individuals to deliver the two statutory purposes and duty. The law requires us to: -Conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage -Promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of national parks by the public If there’s a conflict between these two purposes, conservation takes priority.
