₪▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬₪ The Indiana Mounted Rangers The Indiana Rangers were a frontier militia commissioned by the Indiana Territorial Governor to ensure safety from Indian attacks for frontier settlers. Rangers patrolled either on foot or on horseback and easily overpowered their Indian enemies in combat. The Rangers would see numerous engagements, such as the Peoria War and the Battle of Tippecanoe, until the onset of the War of 1812, where the Rangers, mostly mounted, were utilized to defend the Canadian-American border and fend off against British-backed Indians. ₪▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬₪ Motto: "Wide Awake!
