𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬 Departamentul Securității Statului The "Securitate" was the popular term for the Department of State Security. It was the most feared agency in the Socialist Republic of Romania during the Cold War, and notorious for its brutal methods of punishing dissidents and efficiency in it's operations. 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 First Directorate - Internal Security. Second Directorate - External Security. Third Directorate - Military Counterespionage. Fourth Directorate - Security Troops. Fifth Directorate - Militsiya. 𝗘𝗡𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 The enrollment process to join the Department of State Security is classified, and differs from directorate to directorate.
