Description
The Grand Army of the Republic, also known as the Clone Army, was the mighty military force created to defend the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Secretly commissioned by Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas (and later manipulated by Darth Sidious), the clones were grown on Kamino using the DNA of the skilled Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett. Millions of genetically identical soldiers were rapidly aged, rigorously trained, and engineered for perfect obedience. Clad in gleaming white Phase I armor (later upgraded to Phase II), clone troopers proved far superior to battle droids in adaptability, marksmanship, and teamwork. They fought under Jedi command in countless battles—from the bloody first clash on Geonosis to the brutal campaigns on Umbara, Felucia, and beyond.
