Description
Coffee is a popular, stimulating beverage brewed from the roasted, ground seeds of the Coffea plant. Known for its dark color and bitter taste, it is widely consumed for its natural caffeine content, which boosts alertness and energy.The OriginBefore it is a drink, coffee is a tropical fruit. The "beans" are actually the seeds found nestled inside bright red or yellow "coffee cherries" that grow on trees. The plant is native to Africa and cultivated heavily in the global "Bean Belt" near the equator.The ProcessThe journey from fruit to cup involves four main steps:Harvesting: The ripe cherries are picked and the seeds are extracted, washed, and dried to become green coffee beans.Roasting: Heat is applied, turning the green seeds into the aromatic, dark-brown beans we recognise while bringing out their flavour profiles.Grinding: The beans are crushed into fine or coarse particles to prepare them for brewing.Brewing: The grounds are steeped in hot water and filtered to produce the final.
