Description
The Serenest Duchy of Warsaw, established by Frederick I of Saxony and Napoleon I, was a large and militaristic absolute monarchy in eastern Europe. As the Grand Duke was fond of the military, he built a vast and complex Polish army, using traditional German maneuvers and drills to create a masterpiece. Although constructed around the military, Poland's old nobility fashioned a prominent royal court and government in Warsaw. The old town was lined with cafes, galleries, noble estates, bakeries, and gardens, as well as the Royal Castle of Warsaw, the seat of power.
