Commander in Chief Guard: Elite infantry ---------------------------------------------------- "Conquer or die" - Motto ---------------------------------------------------- Established in 1776, the Commander In Chief Guard, more commonly known as Washington's lifeguards were a unit task with General Washington's protection. The CICG were handpicked and were some of the most elite men in the Continental army. The unit accompanied Washington in all of his battles including the battle of Yorktown with their motto "Conquer or die."
