5th Massachusetts: Cavalry ------------------------------------------------ "Lady liberty leads the charge!" - Motto ------------------------------------------------ Summoned in 1775 outside the peripheries of Boston Massachusetts, the 5th Massachusetts Regiment was notable for being a cavalry regiment. What made this unit more distinct was that it included black soldiers in its regiment which was very rare for this time period. Equipped with a mount and blade, the 5th Massachusetts Cavalry thunders across the battlefield bringing a huge advantage to the Continental Army and ultimately helping to bring victory at the Battle of Yorktown.
