UNITED FRUIT CO. UNIDO FRUTA CO. Based in the Caribbean and surrounding regions, the United Fruit Co. (UFC) originated from a merge between Boston Fruit Co. and various other fruit companies. Throughout the beginning of the 20th Century, the UFC went through the hands of many different people, each instilling a different business principle that would further economic growth of the company. During the fallout of World War I, the United Fruit Co. had taken interest in business deals with the United States, particularly with military supplying and rationing. Through one of these agreements, the United States agreed to financially back the UFC in exchange armored vehicle and field ration production, alongside military presence at the Rio Grande. By the year 1933, the United Fruit Co. holds a monopoly on fruit exports from the Americas alongside exercising a strong military presence by the Rio Grande Valley.
