Description
There are Marvel heroes who seek to protect our planet or even the galaxy. But there are also those who protect turf of a smaller scale, safeguarding their own neighborhoods from threats within. Meet the street-level defenders of Marvel – a handful of New York City vigilantes and Heroes for Hire who pack powerful punches on the streets they call home. The world’s mightiest “non-team” stands the test of time without structure or rules to defend the world against threats both strange and deadly. When the trio of heroes Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage interfered with the operations of rising crime lord Diamondback, they were dealt heavy blows in return. As they were looking for leads on Diamondback together with Luke's wife Jessica Jones, Daredevil noticed it could help people know that they actively worked together. They continued operating as a team to investigate Diamondback, and eventually became known as the Defenders.
