Description

The Red Guard, also known as Redrobes, were an elite cadre of personal bodyguards created to protect Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine during the waning years of the Galactic Republic and throughout the Clone Wars. Formed before the outbreak of war—likely handpicked from highly skilled recruits or Senate Commandos rather than clones—they operated independently of the Senate Guard (blue-robed) and the clone-based Coruscant Guard. Clad in striking crimson robes and armor, they stood as silent, imposing sentinels in Palpatine's offices, chambers, and during public appearances, exuding an aura of mystery and intimidation. The Red Guard accompanied Palpatine on key occasions, including his rescue on Coruscant and confrontations in the Senate Rotunda. They shared protective duties with clone shock troopers but remained his private, loyal force.
