Description

The Senate Guard, also known as the Blue Guard or Defenders of Democracy, was an ancient elite security force of the Galactic Republic, tasked with protecting the Galactic Senate, its senators, and the Supreme Chancellor on Coruscant. With traditions stretching back thousands of years—predating the Clone Wars—they served as ceremonial yet highly trained bodyguards and law enforcers in the Senate District, sharing duties with the Coruscant Security Force. They stood vigil in the Senate Rotunda, escorted dignitaries, and symbolized peace and security during the Republic's final centuries without a standing army. Easily recognized by their striking blue robes, ornate plumed helmets with open faceplates, and ceremonial "Paladin" rifles, the Guards blended formality with readiness. The most skilled advanced to the Senate Commandos for covert, high-risk missions.
