The Kingdom of Siam | ราชอาณาจักรสยาม ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The Kingdom of Siam was founded in 1782 with the establishment of Rattanakosin (Bangkok), which replaced the city of Thonburi as the capital of Siam. After the failed Palace Revolt of 1912, a Compromise was reached, and the Kingdom of Siam eventually transitioned from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy. Major reforms in education, economy, and military followed, further reinforcing Siam's position in Southeast Asia. When the King and government decided to join the Great War as an Allied power, the external actions of the Kingdom of Siam ceased, but the lost territories remained, and revenge remained a central issue of every Siamese government. In 1935, due to the illness of King Prajadhipok, the Kingdom fell under the rule of a Regency.
