The company ended up seizing control of large parts of the region after a war. Chartered by the Groussherzogin by putting the abdicated Groussherzogin in charge of the highly Francophile territories, the company rose to dominate a large percentage of Africa's trade. Increasingly taking on government powers with its own army and judiciary as the monopoly expands in its power.
