Shortly after the U.S joined the 1st world war the US began a Gas Unit which later conceived the many Chemical and CBRN units, including this one. During the Korean War it was tasked with using Mortar's to give support with things such as Smoke, Gas etc. They were assigned the Code name NATIVE to use on radio as they were often requested on the many fronts and by Commanders. However in 1950 a large portion of the battalions equipment was lost to Chinese and they retreated and 19 were killed. They fought were the combat was the heaviest and did well, proving themselves as an outstanding combat unit. However it was deactivated in 1955, waiting to be used again in later periods of history.
